Each year, the Oregon School Activities Association puts on a solo and ensemble competition in the spring. To participate in this event, students need to first participate in the District 1 (PIL) Solo and Ensemble Competition. Some are then selected to move on to state. Soloists may participate as a Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone, or Bass. Ensembles between 2-16 people may participate and there are various categories separated by size and vocal type (SA/TB). Each participant/ensemble is scored by one judge at the district event, and three judges at the state event. Click the links below for more information.
