Lincoln High School is a public high school in the Goose Hollow neighborhood of Portland, Oregon.   It was established in 1869 making it the oldest, continuous, public high school west of the Mississippi River.  The choral program at Lincoln High School has been steadily growing since it was last reinstated in 2012 by principal Peyton Chapman after many years of not having any choral music.  In 2017 under the direction of Lisa Riffel, the LHS Cardinal Choir was accepted to participate in the OSAA state competition for the first time in the school's history.  Since then Lincoln's choral program has continued a tradition of excellence that has been evidenced by many achievements at both the district and state level.  The Cardinal Choir, our oldest and largest SATB ensemble, is also a touring ensemble.  In the last ten years the group has toured to Seattle, Southern California, San Francisco,  Victoria, B.C, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Disneyland, and within Oregon.  This school year they will also be traveling to the Baltics!  Other choirs at Lincoln include the Concert Choir, Treble Choir, and the Chamber Choir, a smaller group of advanced-level choral singers.  Cheers to a bright future in the Lincoln choral program!
